Membership Plan Terms and Conditions
Essential, Comfort and Complete Memberships. This is a membership plan and not an insurance product.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions apply to AR Heating and Gas Ltd membership plans. The memberships are membership plans designed to help keep eligible domestic heating systems operating safely and efficiently throughout the year. They are not service plans, insurance products, warranties or breakdown insurance. Membership benefits are provided only as set out in this document and are subject to availability, eligibility, fair usage and exclusions.
2. Membership options
Essential Membership — £8 + VAT per month: annual boiler service, gas safety checks, priority booking, member discounts on repairs.
Comfort Membership — £18 + VAT per month: annual boiler service, full central heating health check, priority booking, unlimited call outs, member discounts on repairs.
Complete Membership — £24 + VAT per month: annual boiler service, full central heating health check, priority booking, unlimited call outs, parts and labour membership benefits included, subject to fair usage and exclusions.
3. What is included by membership level
Annual boiler service: included in Essential, Comfort and Complete.
Full central heating health check: included in Comfort and Complete only.
Gas safety checks: included in Essential, Comfort and Complete.
Priority booking: included in Essential, Comfort and Complete.
Unlimited call outs: included in Comfort and Complete only.
Member discounts on repairs: included in Essential and Comfort only.
Parts and labour membership benefits: included in Complete only.
4. What is not included
The following exclusions apply to all memberships unless stated otherwise:
Pre existing faults identified before or during the initial membership period. Boiler replacement or full heating system replacement. System upgrades, design faults or bringing systems up to current standards. Power flushing, chemical flushes or sludge related repairs unless agreed in writing. Plumbing work not directly connected to the eligible boiler or heating membership benefits. Electrical work outside basic boiler controls and heating controls. Smart controls, accessories or third party equipment unless agreed in writing. Damage caused by misuse, neglect, frost, fire, flood, accidental damage, vandalism or third parties. Parts and labour for repairs (Essential and Comfort only). Non standard or out of hours call outs unless expressly agreed.
5. Eligibility and initial inspection
The property must be within AR Heating and Gas Ltd's operating area and the boiler or heating system must be accessible, domestic, and in safe working order. An initial inspection may be required before membership benefits begin. AR Heating and Gas Ltd may refuse, defer or cancel a membership where the system is unsafe, obsolete, inaccessible, poorly maintained or unsuitable for membership.
6. Minimum term, renewal and payment
Memberships run for a minimum term of 12 months and renew automatically on a rolling monthly basis unless cancelled in accordance with these Terms. Payments are taken monthly in advance by the agreed payment method. If payment fails, membership benefits may be suspended until the account is brought up to date.
7. Waiting period and existing faults
A 14 day initial waiting period applies from the membership start date. Any fault, defect, poor performance, leak, noise, intermittent issue or unsafe condition that existed before joining, or becomes apparent during the waiting period, is excluded unless AR Heating and Gas Ltd agrees otherwise in writing.
8. Fair usage policy
Unlimited call outs means unlimited reasonable call outs for eligible membership matters during normal working hours, subject to engineer availability and fair usage. It does not mean unlimited repairs, unlimited parts, out of hours attendance, replacement boilers, upgrades, repeat visits caused by neglect, or work outside the chosen membership benefits. AR Heating and Gas Ltd may review, restrict or cancel membership where use is excessive, unreasonable or outside the intended purpose of the membership.
9. Complete Membership parts and labour benefits
Complete Membership includes eligible parts and labour membership benefits for routine domestic boiler and heating repairs, subject to fair usage, exclusions, engineer diagnosis, parts availability, economic viability and these Terms. A parts and labour membership benefit limit of £500 including VAT applies per repair. AR Heating and Gas Ltd may decline repairs where the appliance or system is beyond economical repair, obsolete, unsafe, inaccessible or affected by sludge, scale, poor installation or lack of maintenance.
10. Access and appointments
The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the property, boiler, controls, lofts, airing cupboards and relevant system components. Missed appointments or late cancellations may be charged. Appointment times are estimates and may change due to emergencies, engineer availability or circumstances beyond our control.
11. Customer responsibilities
The customer must use the heating system responsibly, maintain reasonable water pressure, report faults promptly, follow manufacturer instructions, allow ventilation and access, and not attempt unauthorised repairs. The customer must tell AR Heating and Gas Ltd about any known faults, previous issues, modifications or third party works.
12. Cancellation rights
Where the membership is sold to a consumer at a distance or away from business premises, statutory cancellation rights may apply. The customer may have the right to cancel within 14 days. If the customer asks for work to start during that period, they may be required to pay for membership benefits or work already provided. After the minimum term, membership may be cancelled by giving 30 days written notice.
13. Changes to membership benefits
AR Heating and Gas Ltd may amend prices, benefits or Terms by giving reasonable notice. If a material change is made, the customer may cancel in accordance with the notice provided.
14. Optional membership add ons
Members may add 24 Hour Emergency Cover at £5 + VAT per month, Gas Fire Membership at £5 + VAT per month per fire, and Hot Water Cylinder Membership at £5 + VAT per month. Add ons are membership benefits and are subject to these Terms, availability, safe access and fair usage.
15. Business hours and emergency assistance
Business hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday closed. Outside these hours, emergency assistance is available where the 24 Hour Emergency Cover add on has been selected, subject to engineer availability and safe access.
16. Liability
AR Heating and Gas Ltd will provide membership services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so. AR Heating and Gas Ltd is not responsible for indirect losses, loss of income, loss of use, pre existing defects, third party damage, or issues outside the membership benefits.
17. Data protection
Customer information will be used to administer the membership, arrange appointments, process payments and communicate with the customer. Personal information will be handled in accordance with UK data protection law.
