What We Have Been Called Out To Across the North East
Most heating company websites tell you what they can do. This one is about what we are actually called out to, area by area, and what customers said afterwards in their own words. The reviews below are real Google reviews, quoted as written.
Sunderland and the coast
Two things dominate here. Along the coast at Roker, Seaburn and Fulwell it is the outside of the appliance that suffers first, with flue terminals corroding in salt air and fans working harder against them. Inland through Hendon, Millfield, Pallion and Grangetown it is the condensate pipe, which on those terraces usually runs down an outside wall to a gully and freezes before anything else in the house does.
Hot water complaints are the third strand, and in this area they are worth taking seriously because Sunderland water is at the harder end of the region. Scale on a plate heat exchanger looks like a boiler fault and is not.
"Excellent service. They always respond quickly if there is a problem"

Washington
Almost everything here traces back to the pipework rather than the boiler. The villages went up in phases through the sixties, seventies and eighties, a lot of it in microbore, and forty years of magnetite in narrow pipe produces cold radiators, short cycling and the occasional blocked leg that has never worked properly since anyone can remember.
It is also the area where we most often have to have the conversation about cleaning a system properly before a new boiler goes on it, because the consequences of not doing it are expensive and land on the customer rather than the installer.
"Alex and Rebecca have been excellent helping us with the heating in the house. New pump and the remote staters installed and is working great. Totally recommend the company for heating work in the house."

Durham and the villages
Inside the city the constraint is usually the building rather than the boiler. Conservation area status and listing limit where a flue can terminate, which sometimes means the boiler cannot go back where it came from. There is also a very large rented and student sector, where hot water demand is genuinely higher than in a family home and the paperwork matters as much as the work.
Out at Bearpark, Ushaw Moor, Brandon, Sherburn, Coxhoe and Bowburn the housing is older and more exposed, and frozen condensate is the single most common winter call.
"I found Alex to be punctual, thorough, informative and fully answered my questions."

Houghton le Spring, Hetton and the pit villages
This is home ground, and the work here is mostly the older housing stock. Solid wall properties at Hetton, Easington Lane and Philadelphia where a cold room is usually an undersized radiator rather than an undersized boiler. Systems still running a heat only boiler and a cylinder, where a heating failure turns out to be the pump, a motorised valve or the cylinder thermostat rather than the boiler at all.
A good share of the work here comes from someone a few streets away from a customer we already look after, which is a decent incentive to leave a tidy job.
"I have been using this company for 5 years and never had a problem. From the initial installation by Alex, then the yearly services by Alex and now Lewis. Always done quickly efficiently with no mess. Amicable and efficiently. Thanks"

Chester le Street and the wider County Durham area
A mix. Relocated kitchen boilers with long external condensate runs, and at the other end larger properties out towards Waldridge and Great Lumley where an undersized combi was fitted years ago and has never really coped with the hot water demand.
"Alex quick to respond and job completed to very high standard. Would thoroughly recommend."

Newcastle and Gateshead
Tyneside flats, and everything that comes with them. Where the flue can terminate, where the condensate can run, and whether the gas supply pipe is big enough for the boiler somebody wants to fit. It is a different job from a semi in Kingston Park and it needs pricing differently.
"What a great company....so many rip off merchants in this field....but these guys are fantastic...I wish I knew about this company years ago..."
Michael Cafferkey, Google review
The common thread
Across all of it, the faults that cost people the most money are the ones that were visible months earlier. A condensate route that was obviously going to freeze. A gauge that had been dropping since spring. A system full of sludge that a new boiler then got bolted onto. None of those are dramatic and all of them are cheaper to deal with in September than in January.
